Fragrances are synthetic materials made in laboratories.
Many products are scented for appeal-strawberry shampoo, vanilla candles, dripped bears. These do not have aromatherapy elements. These fragrances are used for our enjoyment.
Essential oils used in aromatherapy are not synthetic but come from real plants.
Never use undiluted essential oils on any animal.
Dogs have 200 million scent receptors in their nasal folds, we have 50 million. Never use undiluted oils on dogs! Prolonged contact of undiluted oils can easily burn an animals skin since the dosage of these oils is significantly higher than that used for healing purposes.
Never use essential oils on puppies less than 10 weeks old. A puppy's skin is too sensitive and their systems too immature to handle essential oils, no matter how well diluted.
Never use essential oils on cats. A cat's system is very different from that of a dog or human. The cumulative effect of essential oils on a cat's liver may in time result in irreparable damage or as is sometimes the case, death. If you have a cat, use essential oils for your own treatment in a well ventilated room that allows a cat access to an exit.
